Bond to Randolph Alexander, 29 April 1842

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That I Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the county of and State of am held and firmly bound unto Randolph Alexander—— of the county of and State of his heirs and assigns, in the sum of Eight hundred—— dollars, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, I bind myself my successors in office and heirs, executors and <assigns> administrators, firmly by these presents.
NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That whereas, the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust &c—— have this day sold unto the said Randolph Alexander—— a certain lot of ground, situated, lying and being in the county of and State of , and described on the plat of the City of as being Lot No. 2 in Block No. 79—— and received in payment for said lot Four notes of hand bearing even date herewith, for the sum of one hundred and eighty seven—— dollars, and payable as follows, with interest: viz
One note for Thirty seven dollars payable on the 1st. April 1843
One note for Fifty dollars payable on the 1st. april 1844
One note for Fifty dollars payable on the 1st. April 1845
One note for Fifty dollars payable on the 1st April— 1846
And also for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and sixty three dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
The interest for each and every note to be paid annually.
Now, if the said Randolph Alexander——his heirs, executors, or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid, the amount of said notes with such interest as may accrue thereon, according to the tenor and effect thereof, when due, I the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust &c—— bind myself my successors in office and assigns heirs, executors and administrators, to make, or cause to be made, to the said ——Randolph Alexander—— his heirs and assigns, a good and sufficient Deed for the above described lot and then this bond shall become null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Given under my hand and seal this Twenty ninth day of April— in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Two
