August 31st. 1842. Silas Hilman has handed me a Book of Account, and several Accounts made out from said Book, against Sundry Persons, as being indebted to William H. McGraw and James White, for the purpose of Collecting said Debts by Garnisheeing, or otherwise, I hereby undertaking as Clerk and lawful Attorney for the present Mayor of the , that the said Hillman is liberated from any liability to pay any damages Debt or Cost in the case of the City of agst. Wm. H. McGraw, wherein said Hillman signed an appeal Bond.—
