John Howden to William M Halsted Deed.
Know all men by these Presents, That I John Howden and Mary [Smith] Howden wife of said John Howden of Lake County Ohio in consideration of the sum of one dollar in hand paid by William M Halsted do hereby remise, release, and forever quit claim, unto the said William M Halsted his heirs and assigns, forever, all our title, Interest, and estate, legal and equitable, in the following Premises, with the appurtenances, situate in in the County of Lake and State of being Town 9 in the 9th Range and bounded and described as follows: all that piece known as part of lot 18 in tract No 1 in said bounded as follows to wit. on the south & east by land owned by , on the north partly by the highway & partly by land owned by , on the west by s land supposed to contain 17 acres. Also lot No thirteen in Block No 143 in the village of Kirtland in said reference to be had to the City plat for further description. Also lot No fourteen in said Block No 143 in said village of Kirtland being the same lands bid off by said John Howden at sheriffs sale September 21. 1841 on execution in favor of said Halsted & others against & others. And I the said Mary Howden do hereby remise & quit claim forever to said William M Halsted & to his heirs & assigns all my right and title of dower in and to said premises.
In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the 4th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
