<​Meeting of the High Council​> From this time to the sitting of the I continued to give instructions to the Members of the High council, , and those who had travelled in the camp with me, and such others as desired information, until the 7th. when the council assembled according to adjournment, at the house of Elder , Present fifteen , eight elders, four , eight , Three , and members.
After singing and prayer I gave the council such instructions, in relation to their high calling, as would enable them to proceed to minister in their office; agreeable agreeably to the pattern heretofore given; read the revelation on the subject; and told them that if I should now be taken away. I accomplished the great work the Lord had laid before me, and that which I had desired of the Lord; and that I had done my duty in organizing the High Council, through which council the will of the Lord might be known on all important occasions, in the building up of Zion, and establishing truth in the earth.
<​Ordination of the High Council of Zion.​> It was voted that those who were appointed on the third. should be in their appointments. I then , and , and assistants; and their twelve Counselors. The twelve counselors then proceeded to cast lots, to know who should speak first, and the order of speaking, which resulted as follows, namely,
