<April 26 1839 Page 931> As the Saints were passing away from the meeting, said to and , “stop a bit while I bid Isaac Russell good bye” and knocking at his door called brother Russell! his wife answered “come in it is ” Russel replied “it is not he left here two weeks ago” and appeared quite alarmed but on finding it was asked him to sit down, but he replied “I cannot I shall loose my company” who is your company? inquired Russel “the Twelve” “The Twelve” “Yes dont you know that this is the twenty sixth and the day the Twelve were to take leave of their friends on the foundation of the to go to the Islands of the Sea? The Revelation is now fulfilled, and I am going with them. Russel was speechless and bid him, Farewell: see page 931

<October 17 1839 Page 970> Brothers , and stopped at brother Nahum Milton Stow’s:— in the evening Doctor Modisett went down to see the brethren and appeared to be very much affected to see them so sickly and having to lie upon the floor on a straw bed that had been put into the waggon at by the brethren for to lie on as he was not able to sit up when he left there— when the Doctor returned home he told Elders and he could not refrain from shedding tears to see the brethren going upon such a long mission and in such suffering circumstances. Elders and said they thought the Doctor might have relieved them from their suffering and indigent circumstances upon their long mission, for he told them in the course of the evening that his Taxes in that place amounted to over four hundred Dollars besides having other property to a great amount. see page 970.
