<​April 26 1839 Page 931​> As the Saints were passing away from the meeting, said to and , “stop a bit while I bid Isaac Russell good bye” and knocking at his door called brother Russell! his wife answered “come in it is ” Russel replied “it is not he left here two weeks ago” and appeared quite alarmed but on finding it was asked him to sit down, but he replied “I cannot I shall loose my company” who is your company? inquired Russel “the Twelve” “The Twelve” “Yes dont you know that this is the twenty sixth and the day the Twelve were to take leave of their friends on the foundation of the to go to the Islands of the Sea? The Revelation is now fulfilled, and I am going with them. Russel was speechless and bid him, Farewell: see page 931

<​October 17 1839 Page 970​> Brothers , and stopped at brother Nahum Milton Stow’s:— in the evening Doctor Modisett went down to see the brethren and appeared to be very much affected to see them so sickly and having to lie upon the floor on a straw bed that had been put into the waggon at by the brethren for to lie on as he was not able to sit up when he left there— when the Doctor returned home he told Elders and he could not refrain from shedding tears to see the brethren going upon such a long mission and in such suffering circumstances. Elders and said they thought the Doctor might have relieved them from their suffering and indigent circumstances upon their long mission, for he told them in the course of the evening that his Taxes in that place amounted to over four hundred Dollars besides having other property to a great amount. see page 970.

<​October 17 1839 Page 970​> In the evening Doctor Modisett gave about 40 drops of Morphine, saying it would relieve him of his distress, and probably he would get a nap,— In about fifteen minutes complained of feeling verry strange he arose from his seat and would have fallen but caught him and gently eased him to the floor where he lay for some time and it was by Faith, and the close attention of , and the family, that his life was preserved through the night. see page 970

<​Nov 3d. 1839 Page 972​> about one o clock A.M. and while waiting for the Stage until about noon Elders , , and , who left them at , drove up having picked up by the way, he having been left sick by his company in the east part of Indiana, they were in good health compared with what they had been and in fine spirits tarried in till the next day to visit his relatives. Brothers , , and , rode in the stage, and , and Mr. Murray, in their Waggon to , and from there they all rode in to together. see page 972 [p. 14 [addenda]]
