<​13​> Friday 13 Receved a letter from in reply to mine of yesterday. Spent most of the day in my garden & with my family. Dictated a <​the following​> letter to “ Esqr, Dear Sir, (L.B. 232, 3) clerk. In the evening I walked with to the Post office, and had an intervew with , on concerning certain evil reports, put in circulation by , about <​some of​> ’s family, and others, Much apparent satisfaction was manifested at the conversation by , and retur[ne]d with me to my house.

<​14​> Satuday 14 I attended city Coun[c]il in in the morning & (LL. 95) Wasp shot. The City of Hamburgh, the commercial Emporium of Germeny, was destroyed by fire about this time. I granted the petition of About J and about 70 others members of the chu[r]ch in for the organizattion of a branch of the chuch to meet in the north part of the Ciry <​dated April 22,​> and my doings were sanctioned by the 12, who at the Same time silenced Elder , for not following council.

<​A general conference was held in “the New Corn exchange, Eng. Prst presiding. There were present at the opening of the confirnce High Prists 14. (Star, 29) Deacons 8. The representation of the Churches were as follows, confernce (Star 29) Teachers 110.”​>
