Thursday 29th. This day began to be sick with fever; consequently president Joseph kept in the house and with her all day.

Friday 30th. no better. President Joseph was with her all day.
1 October 1842 • Saturday
October Saturday 1st. This A.M. President Joseph is sick, having a very severe pain in his left side; was not able to be about in consequence. about as usual. The President had previously sent for the Committee to balance their accounts and ascertain how the business was going on. Some reports had been circulated that the committee was not making a righteous disposition of property consecrated for the building of the and there appeared to be some disatisfaction amongst the laborers. After carefully examining the accounts and enquiring into the manner of the proceedings of Committee President Joseph expressed himself perfectly satisfied with them and their works.
