6 November 1842 • Sunday
Sunday 6th. At home all day. In the P.M. had a visit from Dr .—
7 November 1842 • Monday
Monday 7th. Spent this A.M. in Council with and some of the Twelve, and in giving instructions concerning the contemplated Journey to on the 15th. of December next, and what course ought to be pursued in reference to the case of Bankruptcy.
In the P.M. Esqr arrived, and the president called upon some of the Twelve and others to testify before what they knew in reference to the appointment of Trustee in Trust &c, shewing also from the records that president Joseph was authorised by the church to purchase and hold property in the name of the church, and that he had acted in all things according to the council given to him.
8 November 1842 • Tuesday
Tuesday 8th. This A.M. called upon and others to make affidavits concerning the frauds and irregularities practised in the Post Office. A petition was drawn and signed by many and sent by to with a request that the latter should present the petition to the Post Master General and use his influence to have the present post master removed and a new one appointed. president Joseph was recommended for the appointment.
In the P.M. sat in court at his house as mayor.

Wednesday 9th. Paid E[rie] Rhodes $436.93 being the amount of three notes due for the N.W quarter of section 9— 6 North 8 West.

Saturday 12th. This day and also friday and the thursday was spent in the city council—

Saturday 26th. At home nearly all day. Went to visit E[lde]r. who was taken sick very suddenly. Tarried 2 or three hours in council &c.

28 November 1842 • Monday
Monday 28th. At home all day. Some charges having been instituted by the stone cutter<​s​> against the Committee, at president Josephs request the parties appeared at his house this day to have the difficulties settled. An investigation [p. 210]
