I, a justice of the peace, of said county, do certify, that and his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said .

This Indenture, made and entered into, this 25th. day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty one, between and his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and Erastus Dodge of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Erastus Dodge his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of in the State of , and described on the plot of s addition to the Town of , as being Lot (2) two and Block (6) six, Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Erastus Dodge his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Erastus Dodge his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
