fire and it is he of whom I shall bear record whose fan shall be in his hand and he will thoroughly purge his floor and gather his wheat into the garner but in the fullness of his own time will burn up the chaff with unquenchable <fire>. Thus came John preaching and Baptising in the river Jordan bearing record that he who coming after him had power to Baptise with the Holy Ghost and fire And <then> cometh Jesus to John from Gallilee to Jordan unto John to be Baptised of him but John refused him saying I have need to be Baptised of thee and why comest thou to me and Jesus answering said unto him suffer me to be Baptised of thee for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness then he suffered him and John went down into the watter and Baptised him and Jesus when he was Baptised went up straightway out of the watter and John saw and Lo the heavens were opened unto him (John) and he saw the spirit of <God> decending like a dove and lighting upon Jesus and Lo he heard a voice from heaven saying this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased hear ye him.
Matthew, Chapter 4
Then Jesus was led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be with God and when he had fasted forty days and forty nights and had communed with God he was afterwerd an hungered as <and> was left to be tempted of the Devil and when the tempter came to him he said if thou be a son of God command that these stones be made bread but Jesus answered and said it is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God then Jesus was taken up into the holy City and the spirit setteth him on a pinacle of the temple then the Devil came unto him [p. 6]
