<​14​> wherein dwelleth righteousness. <​14​> Wherefore, beloved, see[i]ng that <​we​> <​ye​> look for such things, be dilligent, that ye may be found of him in <​15​> peace, <​without spot and blameless;​> <​15​> and account even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given <​u[n]to him​> hath written unto you, the long suffering and <​15 <​16​>​> waiting of our Lord, for salvation. <​15 <​16​>​> As also in all his Epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to be understood which they who are unlearned and unstable wrest, <​17​> as <​they do​> also the other Schriptures unto their own distruction.<​17​> Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know, before the things which are coming, beware lest ye also being led away with the <​18​> errour of the wicked, fall from your owns stedfastness. <​18​> But grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus christ. To him be glory, both now and forever. Amen.

Verse 1st My little children, these things write I unto you that ye sin not. But if any man sin & repent, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
verse 7 Brethren, I write a new commandment unto you, but <​it​> is the same commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye <​have​> heard from the beginning.
8th again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing was of old, ordained of God; & is true in him, & is <​in​> you; because the darkness is past in you, & the true light now shineth.

16th For all in the world, that is of the lusts of the flesh, & the lust of <​the​> eyes, & the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [p. 147 (second numbering)]
