The people of the State of to any constable of said Greeting:—
Whereas complaint hath been made before me one of the Justices of the Peace within and for the County of aforesaid upon the oath of Josiah Simpson of the City of & of the & aforesaid that one Stephen Goddard & one & one William Riley late of the & aforesaid did unlawfully assault & beat him the said Josiah Simpson at the County of aforesaid.
These are therefore to command you forthwith to apprehend the said Stephen Goddard, & William Riley & bring them before me or some other Justice of the Peace to answer the premises and further be dealt with according to law
Given under my hand & Seal at in the aforesaid this 3rd. day of February A. D. 1843.—
