Biography
7 June 1817–after Sept. 1845. Born in Monmouth Co., New Jersey. Son of Ephraim Potter and Hannah Woodmansee. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by July 1841. Member of Nauvoo Legion. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and left for mission to Jamaica, by Dec. 1841. Moved to Monmouth, Monmouth Co., by 1845.
