Brassfield, John


Ca. 1812–after 29 June 1880. Farmer. Born in Tennessee. Married Mahala Johnston, Jan. 1834, in Ray Co., Missouri. Appointed guard to assist Sheriff William Morgan transport Latter-day Saint prisoners from Daviess Co., Missouri, to Boone Co., Missouri; helped prisoners escape, Apr. 1839. Moved to North Fork, Izard Co., Arkansas, by 1850; to Mulberry, Johnson Co., Arkansas, by 1860; to Jackson Township, Newton Co., Arkansas, by 1870; and to Center Township, Sebastian Co., Arkansas, by 1880.
