Biography

22 Mar. 1812–? Lived in Seneca, Ontario Co., New York, by June 1842. Indicted for “passing and having in possesion Counterfeit bank bills,” Aug. 1842, in Ontario Co. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by Jan. 1844. Commissioned aide-de-camp to JS in Nauvoo Legion, 5 Jan. 1844. Gave affidavit in Hancock Co. court about several men conspiring against JS, 15 Mar. 1844. Admitted to Council of Fifty, 11 Apr. 1844; one of three men admitted to council by JS who were not Latter-day Saints. New York governor issued extradition order for him on 1842 counterfeit charge, Aug. 1844. Left Nauvoo, after Jan. 1845. Rejected from Council of Fifty, 4 Feb. 1845.
