An Ordinance in relation to the duties of City Attorney.
Sec. 1.— Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of , That it shall be the duty of the City Attorney to defend the interests of the Corporation in all suits instituted by or against this Corporation, to make such returns to the Mayor, of the state and condition of the said suits, at such periods, and in such manner as he shall prescribe, and generally to give such legal advice on matters pertaining to the interests of the corporation, as the Mayor and Alderman shall from time to time require.
Sec. 2. Be it ordained, That a sallary of Fifty Dollars per annum, be, and the same is hereby allowed to the said Attorney, in full for such legal advice & services as the Mayor & Alderman are authorised to require of him by the first section of this act, payable semi annually, out of the general fund.
Sec. 3.— This act to take effect from and after its passage.
