Editorial Note
On 22 April 1845 the council met in an afternoon session beginning at 1:30 in the . noted that there was “not much business done” in the meeting; similarly wrote, “But little business.” During the meeting, council members finalized preparations for the departure of men on the Western Mission. The committee charged with making preparations reported that they had obtained everything that was necessary. A notation at the end of the minutes records that started across the just before 6:00 p.m. the following day, with the other three council members assigned to the mission—, , and —departing at 3:00 the next morning along with .
Tuesday April 22nd. 1845 Council met pursuant to adjournment in the upper room of the and organized at 1½ o clock P.M. Prest. in the chair.
