I the within named— do herby <return> this writ— <with the body of Joseph Smith,> with the following cause of caption & detention— to wit—: the within named Joseph Smith was arrested on a warrent, issued by the of the State of by one <a constable of in the State of > on the 23— day of June AD 1843 a copy of which warrent is hereunto anexed & marked Letter A— and deliverd ove[r] to the <my> custody of <as> directed by said writt.—
