The Judges of said Court To , of the County of & aforesaid Greeting.
We command you <​that you​> do forthwith without excuse or delay bring or cause to be brought before this Court at their Chambers in the City of , the body of Joseph Smith, by whatever name or condition he is known or called & who is unlawfully detained in your custody, as it is said, together with the day & cause of his caption & detention then and there to perform and abide such order and direction as the said Court shall make in that behalf. And hereof make due return under the penalty of which the Law directs
In testimony whereof we have set our hand and affixed the seal of said Court this 8th day of Augt. A.<​C​>D. 1842.
