<1> <Monday June 1, 1840,> The Saints have already erected aout 250 houses at — mostly block houses, a few framed, and many more in Lively operation. The gospel is spreding through the , & , , Scotland, & other places, with great rapidity. The fore part of this week Elders , were engaged in blessing the brethern who were about to sail for .
Wednesday 3rd. & visited the printers in , & preached on Sunday.
<5 <6>> Friday 5 <Saturday 6> <Elder John Moon &> a company of the saints sailed from for . <on board ship Britannia> Led by El. . was with the company, the historian of the company.
<6 <8>> Saturday <Monday> 8, Elders & visited Cheshire, & on Sunday <9> Tuesday,. to ,— and continued to collect hymns.
<11.> dreamed of his family in health & want, also of the church & people, & of a contention between 2 small cos. in the west, 1 North, the other South, the North prevailing, from time to time.
<14> Sunday 14th. “Minutes of the conference X (M. S. 84, 85) clerk”
-[This motion was permitted to accommadate the feelings of the conference who had all recently been baptized, but there is no such principle in the existence as to transform a church or conference of the world into a church or conference of Christs fold by a vote.]-
<18> Thursday 18[th]. Copy of a Memorial (L. 148, 149) Jr.
<20> Saturday, 20 Proceedings of the High Council (L. 150) clerk
<21> Sunday 21, “Minutes (O M. S. 86, 7, 8, 9.) ”
The saints hired the carpenters Hall in , for $500 a year, <payable by contribution.>— Large enough to accomadate 10 or 15 hundred hearers & Elders & preached therin this day for the 1st time.
<22> Monday 22 went to to see about printing the Book of Mormon, & returned to on the 26, & on Sunday 28 preached in the Hall
<27> Saturday, 27, High council met at my office. stated to the council that he was authorized to inform them that Prest Joseph Smith Junr. had vetoed the proceedings of the council of the 20th. of June, in relation to his memmorial. Laid over for re-hearing till Friday next—” , clerk. [p. 11]
