Sunday 2d— July. . & . spoke on the stand. Stating that. Joseph had subjected himself to the law in all particulars— & treated his pescutos [persecutors] & kidnappers with— respect.
came in from and stated that & — were inciting the people to mobocracy. & about. to send to for a possy to. retake Joseph.
Petition was immediately made out signd by a gre[a]t number— of citizens & & also— a remonstrnc [] agist [against] proceedings signd by 150.— and fowrded [forwarded] to . & car[r]ied fowad [forward] by— Backenstos [6 lines blank] [p. [292]]
