Soon, <​In the Summer​> after the church was organized, my set out with to visit his father Asael smith. After a tedious journey, they arrived at the house of , my s brother. His wife, sister Clarissa [Lyman Smith], had never before seen my ; but as soon as he entered she exclaimed. “There, , is your brother .” turning suddenly, cried out, “, is this you.”
It is me <​I​>,’ said , “is my father yet alive? I have come to see him once more before he dies.”
For a particular account of this visit, I shall give my readers an extract from brother s journal. He writes as follows.
