Monday Evg. 6 oC. May 23rd. 1842.— Special Meeting.
The City Col. met by special appointment.
Meeting opened by Prayer by . Names of the Council called. Minutes of the Meeting of the 14th. May Inst. were read , & approved.
It was moved seconded & carried Unanimously that the office of Coroner be, & the same hereby is, Created for this City of —
was elected Coroner by Vote, but he having requested that the Order be Rescinded, it was done, accordingly.
was then duly Elected Coroner by an unanimous Vote.
It was referred to the Committee of Municipal Laws to prepare a draft of the Duties of the Coroner to lay before this Council.
Alderman presented his resignation of that office, which was accepted , & upon motion of Colr the following Resolution was passed.
Resolved by the City Council of the City of , that a vote of approbation and thanks of this Council be, & the same hereby is tendered to , for his praiseworthy Conduct as an Alderman of this , while holding that office.
was duly Elected a Colr. & added to the City Council.
Adjourned to the next regular Meeting.—
