Brother ,
Whereas complaint has been made to me by brother , seting forth that you have been guilty of violating the laws of the , you are, therefore hereby notified to appear before the of , to be held in the council-house in on the 28th. day of August Instr. at 10. o clock A.M. to answer to said charge agreeable to the law of the church.

This day the high council of the church of the Latter-Day Saints assembled according to direction of bishop of this church, to try brother , who has been charged with a misdemeanor. complainant. The names of the counsellors were then called and it was found that four were absent. The opened by prayer. The , brothers J. Smith Jnr. & , then proceeded to make a nomination of a high Priest to fill the vacancy in this council occasioned by the death of our beloved brother . Brother Joseph Smith Junr. then nominated brother , and brother seconded [p. 59]
