State of County of I, an acting Justice of the peace of said do certify that whose signature appears to the foregoing deed and who is personally known to me to be the identicle person who executed the same and acknowledged the same to be his own free act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and expressed. This Indenture, made and entered into this First day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Three Between and Letice [Lettice Palmer Bent] his wife, of , and State of of the first part, and of the County of and State of of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to them in hand paid, by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted bargained, and sold and by these presents, do give, grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm, unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying, and being in the county of and State of and described as follows, to wit: commencing at the North East corner of Lot No. 9 in Block No. 3 of s first addition to running West 10 Rods Thence South 17 Rods 13 links thence East 10 Rods thence North 17 Rods 13 links to the place of begining. To Have and to Hold, the aforesaid premises, together with all and singular the improvements, rights, privileges, and appurtenances thereunto [p. 164]
