for <​if​> ye love <​only​> them which love you what reward have you you do not even the publicans the same and if ye salute your breatheren only what do you more than others do not even the publicans the same ye are therefore commanded to be perfect <​even​> as your father <​which is​> in heaven is perfect.
Matthew, Chapter 6
And it came to pass as Jesus taught his disciples he said unto them take heed that you do not your alms to be seen of them before men to be seen of them otherwise ye have no reward of your father which is in heaven therefore when thou doest alms do not sound a trumpet before thee as the hypocrits do in the Sinegogues and in the streets that they may have glory of men verily I say unto you they have their reward but when thou doest alms let it be unto thee as thy left hand not kno[w]ing what thy right hand doeth that thine alms may be in secret and thy father which seeeth in secret <​himself​> shall reward thee openly and when thou prayest thou shalt not be as the hypocrites for they love to pray standing in the Sinegogues and in the corners of the streets that they may be seen of men for verily I say unto you they have their reward but thou when thou prayest enter into thy closet and when thou hast shut thy door pray to thy father which is in secret and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward the[e] openly but when ye pray use not vain repetitions as the hypocrits <​for​> they the think <​that​> they shall be heard for their much speaking therefore be ye not like unto them for your father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him therefore after this manner ye shall pray saying our [p. 12]
