The People of the State of , To any Constable of said , Greeting:
YOU are hereby commanded to Summon and Joseph Smith Jr. to appear before me, at my office, in on the 5th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty at 10 o’clock. A. M. to answer the complaint of who sues for the use of Hungerford & Livingston for a failure to pay him a certain demand not exceeding one hundred dollars; and thereof make due return as the law directs. Given under my hand and Seal, this 27th day of November A. D. 1840.
