Formed law partnership with Reuben Hitchcock, 11 July 1837, in Painesville, Geauga Co., Ohio. Married first Julia Wright Wakefield, 12 May 1839. Formed law partnership with Peter Hitchcock and Reuben Hitchcock as P & R Hitchcock & Wilder, 11 July 1842. Judge in Lake Co., Ohio, 1854. Judge in Court of Common Pleas in Ninth District (including Ashtabula, Lake, and Stark counties, Ohio), 1855. Opened real estate office in Dubuque, Dubuque Co., Iowa, 1855. Moved to Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota Territory, 1856. One of first members of Christ Church, in Red Wing. Partner with W. A. Williston in law firm of Wilder & Williston, in Red Wing. Married second Larissa Kendig, 1 Oct. 1868, in Waterloo, Seneca Co., New York. Died in Red Wing.
