To Joseph Smith Junr.
To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know Ye that we and his wife of the township of County of Geauga & State of Ohio for the consideration of thirty five hundred dollars received to our full satisfaction of Joseph Smith Junr. of the Town of County of Geauga and State of Ohio do give, grant, bargain sell and confirm unto him the said Joseph Smith Jr the following described Tract or lot of land situate in Township No nine in the ninth Range of townships in the in the State of and which is also in the County of and is known as part of one of the parts Lots No’s 17, 18, 19, and is bounded as follows to Wit Beginning at the northwest corner of a piece of land sold to which said s land his north of [p. 568] a piece of land sold to and said s South west corner is a post 8 rods and 2 links North four degrees East of the Northeast corner of the in the said town—— of said s northwest corner being in the centre of the old Chillicothe Road leading from to thence East on said ’s North line seven rods and two links to a post, thence north sixteen rods to a post thence West twelve rods and two links to the centre of the old Chillicothe road aforesaid thence Southerly following the centre of said road to the place of beginning containing one hundred and fifty five rods of Ground subject to all highways now laid out, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the apputernances thereof unto the said Joseph Smith Jun his heirs and assigns forever to their own proper use and behoof And also I the said do for myself and heirs, executors and administrators covenant with the said Joseph Smith Jr his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I was well seized of these premises and as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free from all incumbrances whatsoever. And futhermore I the said do by these presents bind myself & my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Joseph Smith Jr. his heirs and assigns against all lawful claims and demand whatsoever. And I the said do hereby remise, release, and forever unto the Said Joseph Smith Jr his heirs and assigns all my right and title of dower in and to the above described premises In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this fifth day of December A D one thousand Eight hundred and thirty six

Personally appeared and to me personally known as the Signers and Sealers of the above instrument and acknowledged that they did voluntarily sign and Seal the same and that the same is their free act and will. And I having fully made known and explai[n]ed to the said the contents of the above deed and having likewise examined her Separate and apart from her said she declared that she did of her own free will and accord voluntarily sign seal acknowledge and as her free act and deed deliver the same without the force coercion, or compulsion, of her said and that she is still satisfied therewith the same. before me 5 December A D 1836
