To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know Ye that we and Sarah French wife of said of the Fown [Town] of County of and State of For the consideration of Eleven thousand seven hundred and seventy seven dollars and fifty cents, received to our full satisfaction of William Miller, and & Joseph Smith Jr. of the town of County of and State of do give grant bargain sell and Confirm unto them the said William Miller , , and Joseph Smith Jr. the following described tracts or lots of land situate in township No. nine in the ninth range of townships in the in the state of , and which is also in the County of and is known as a part of Lots no. one nine & ten and is bounded as follows— to wit.— Beginning at the S. W Corner of tract No. two and thence & on the line of said Tract, eighty rods, sixteen and a half links, thence northerly on the W line of a lot of Land now owned by Eli Bunnel to said Bunells N W corner [p. 94] thence E to the centre of the highway leading from to the Metcalf settlement so called, thence northerly on said highway, to the S. E corner of a lot of land now owned by Joshua Roberts, thence Westerly in the S line of said Roberts land, one hundred and eighteen, Rods and six links to the west line of tract No. Two, thence south on said line two hundred and ninety two Rods and twenty two links to the place of beginning, Also another piece beginning at the N West corner of Land, now owned by , thence S on said ’s and land John Huffenaus lines, to the corner of the sixty acres formerly owned by Gad Roberts thence W. paralell with the N. line of said Lot to the centre of the Road Thence N Westerly on the centre of said Road to the centre of the E. W (county) Road, thence E, in said Road. far enough so that a line drawn N paralell with the E line of said lot shall Contain thirty acres thence N on said line so the N line of the gore or lot; thence E. on said Lot line to the place of beginning, containing all the two above surveys two hundred thirty nine acres and ninety one Rods be the same more or less. subject to all legall highways. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained, premises with the appurtenances thereof unto them the said William Miller & and Joseph Smith Jr. their heirs and assigns forever to their own proper use and behalf. And also I the said , do for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said William Miller & <​ & Joseph Smith Jr.​> their heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing of these presents I was well seized of these premises, and as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good Right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free from all encumbrances whatsoever And furthermore I the said , do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to them the said William Miller , and & Joseph Smith Jr. their heirs and assigns against all lawfull Claims and demands whatsoever, And the said Sarah French, do hereby remise release and forever quit Claim unto the said William Miller & , and Joseph Smith Junr. theirs heirs and assigns, all my right and title of dower in and to the above described premises In witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this fifth day of October A D one thousand eight hundred and thirty six

Personally appeared to me personally known as the signer and sealer of the above instrument, And acknowledged that he did voluntarily sign and seal the same and that the same is his free act and deed, And I having fully made known and explained to his the said Sarah French the contents of the above deed, and having likewise examined her separate and apart from her said she declared that, she did of her own free will and accord, voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge and as her free act and, deliver the same without the force coercion or compulsion of her said , and that she is still satisfied therewith Before Me
