To the of the City of
Greeting. Whereas complaint has been made to me Mayor of the City of in the aforesaid upon the Oath of Wm. Nisewanger that James <​Daniel​> Brown of the & aforesaid did on the 15 <​14​>th. Inst wilfully & maliciously take in the City of nine or ten Cotton-wood Logs & feloniously convey them away & also that one Thomas <​S​> Edwards was aiding and abetting in said removal of said Logs. These are therefore to command you to take the said James <​Daniel​> Brown if he be found in your or if he shall have fled [p. [1]] also the Said Thomas <​S​> Edwards if he be found in your & take & safely keep the Said James <​Daniel​> Brown & Thomas <​S​> Edwards So that you have their bodies forthwith before me or some other justice to answer the said complaint and be further dealt with according to law
Given under my hand & Seal this 14th. day of Nov. A. D. 1842
